Protecting What We Love: Tackling Flooding and Pollution in Henley
Wednesday 26 November, 7-9pm at the Kenton Theatre - will address the rising risks of flooding & pollution in Henley. It’s a panel discussion with live Q&A, bringing together specialists in flooding, pollution, sport and business to explore what’s happening - and importantly, what we can do about it. How can we protect our homes, schools, businesses and sporting communities? And how can local government play its part?
We’ll cover flash flooding , which can strike anywhere with little or no warning, identifying where it’s most likely to occur locally, and will focus on the practical, positive actions we can take in flood & pollution prevention & preparedness, plus share ways to strengthen resilience across Henley’s homes, schools and businesses. Lots of time for Q&A.
Panel includes:
Dr Jess Neumann - University of Reading - Expert in pollution, flooding and community preparedness
Greg Searle MBE - Olympic rowing champion & Royal Regatta Steward leading in sustainability
Dr Pete Sudbury - Oxfordshire Flooding Taskforce, Oxfordshire County Council
Jonathan Hobbs - Royal Waterman to His Majesty King Charles, and 5th generation owner of Hobbs of Henley
We would love for you to come along and add your voice to the conversation. The event will have plenty of Q&A time included.
